Engine

Engine upgrades are a very typical modification to the late beetle, due to the wide range of options, and relatively inexpensive parts available. These don't all produce more engine power, but will often assist in the smooth / reduced maintenance running of the stock engine - Electronic ignition modules, for example.

Whilst these is a enormous mass of information available, we're currently working to put some of the more useful guides and information sources together. These are likely to include information on:

  • Lubrication
  • Cooling
  • Exhausts
  • Fuel Systems (Carburetor / Injection)
  • Head work
  • Engine specifications and what they mean
  • Stock engine improvements
  • Aftermarket component quality and sources
